Cupping Therapy in

a Medical Clinic

The medical clinic is approved by the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar. Each treatment is performed to the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

We integrate modern clinical practice with several forms of Cupping Therapy including Hijama (wet cupping according to the Sunnah), always taking into account your health condition, to give you the most suitable treament possible.

What is Cupping Therapy?

In Cupping Therapy, suction cups are applied to the skin. The superficial suction spots on the skin invoke reactions inside the body that can help with healing, recovery, detoxification, relaxation and rejuvenation.

There are different types of cups, and different ways to use them:

  • Dry cupping

  • Gliding Cups Massage

  • Flash cupping

  • Wet cupping, also called Blood Cupping - also known as Hijama.

In Wet Cupping Therapy (WCT) not only suction cups are applied to the skin, but also superficial scratches are made to withdraw a small amount of blood in a controlled manner, to treat a variety of acute and chronic health problems.

It is also beneficial for general health & wellbeing and as a preventive health measure.

(Wet) Cupping has been practiced for centuries in many parts of the world. In the Middle-East, wet cupping is also called “Hijama”, from the Arabic word "Hajm" which means "suction". In the Philipines it's knows as "ventosa". In Traditional Chinese Medicine it's called YuZu.

Cupping Therapy has gained popularity in the West, first among health-minded Hollywood celebrities and among athletes, as it can reduce pain, inflammation and speed up recovery time, among things.

Medical science is catching up to proving the effectiveness of cupping therapy in all its forms, and we see it being integrated more and more into regular health care.
